Meineck Nefertari's Voyage
Nefertari was an Egyptian Queen and the first wife of Pharaoh Ramses II (1279 - 1255bc). She was also known as Nefetari Meritmutor ( beloved of the godess Mut)
Known for her beauty, she was also highly educated and able to both read and write hieroglyphs which was a very rare skill at the time. Writings found suggest she had a loving and affectionate relationship with her husband, and indeed love poetry written by RamsesII has also been found.
To date, Nefertari's Tomb although ransacks by robbers, is the most beautifully decorated discovered in the Valley of Queens as the majority of the wall paintings did survive.
The design below is a true representation of one such wall painting.
